Well since I have nothing else better to do, just wanted to inform chevy k fans that I am starting a new project on my K2500.
The truck is a k2500 with 5.7l engine, I have just recently replaced the manifold and exhaust system with a banks power pack, at first I did not see an immediate change after a couple of 1000 miles, the engine seems to be talking to me asking to keep pushing it further, I noticed that the K&N filter was clogged with sand and all, so had it cleaned out, it's as if the engine has had a new life breathed into it.
I changed the stock tires which were 30's to 33's, without changing the gearing since it is running on a 4.10, however I placed an order for the Eaton lockers, since getting stuck on the sands seems to be a common habit.
I read once that if your offroading alot, you need that extra hp to keep the rig going, so I just recently placed an order for a powerdyne supercharge kit, I think with the banks power pack kit and the Super charger things sill be drastically increased, also got a hypertech power programmer, but coming across some error codes that hypertech needs to clarify to me.
I had a super winch laying aroung built by david bowyer, guru in winching products, so got to work on that at home garage, some welding with miller mig machine, and it sat nicely into a front bumper I picked up at a local junkyard.
I am still working on some other projects on the vehicle, if anyone has done some weirdo innovative concept on a similar vehicle for serious offroading, then please carry on with this thread.
Following list of phases to be worked on the vehicle, not necessarily on any order, but please feel free to add on it.
Phase One: Engine performance - Manifold / exhaust kit / Air Filter
Phase Two: Super Charger + power programmer
Phase Three: Eaton Locker rear
Phase Four: Winch + Bumper + Towing
Phase Five: Electrics Lights Fornt / Rear
Phase Four: On board generator
Phase Five: On board shower system
Phase Six: Interior redecorating
Phase Seven: Insulation - Heat / Sound
Phase Eight: Lift Kit
