240sx tach

i have a 89 240sx with a sr20det. the stock doesnt work and i bought a autometer tach and hooked up green wire to yellow/red wire running to dash. still no signal. help pls.

I have had this problem too. You either have to get the 91 and up KA or SR tach, or I think you can buy a tach adapter for low power signals, not sure who sells them.

ok thanks. how do you get the autometer tach to work? do i just change to the 91 tach and hook up the autometer tach to that signal?

Its a tach adapther that I think MSD sells, or maybe even autometer. You might want to look in summit or something.
