I have a 96 PAssport...the front windshield wipers work, but I get no wiper fluid when needed. I do have fluid in the resevoir andwhen I pull on the wiper bar to activate the fluid, the wipers come on, but no fluid. Any suggestions??

Check the rubber hoses from the fluid tank to the squirters. Make sure there are no splits or breaks in the line or that they haven't come loose at their connections. Of course, the pump could be bad or disconnected too.

Funny thing on mine, when I pull on the control, it the washer works; but when I push it up to the mist position, it doesn't.
Check the things CF mentioned, a leak would be obvious.
Also, engage the washer with the engine off- you should hear it's motor running. If it doesn't run, you have a problem with the washer motor, switch on the steering column, fuse or wiring.
Good luck,
Dale

Is there a fuse for the pump motor? I couldn't find one in the manual.

Where is the pump motor located in the engine area?

It is fuse CB-11, located in the dash fuse box; labeled front wiper. I know yours is OK, since the front wipers work.
The pump motor is located underneath the washer reservoir, you can see it when looking from the front of the car.
Do you hear the washer motor running when you engage the switch? Or not?
After looking at my manual, I've solved my own problem. Mist means removing the mist from the windshield with one wiper swipe, not misting it with washer fluid.
