installing trip timer

I currently have a '99 Escort SE Wagon. My '88 GL Wagon had an overhead trip timer which consisted of 2 lights, a clock, and a timer.
I recently went to a junkyard and took this overhead piece off of a GL Wagon. I would like to install it in my '99.
I unscrewed it from the junkyard car and cut it off leaving as much of the wires as possisble.
I would like to know how to install this thing.
Does anyone know if I just need to get power to it, or is there some other part maybe located under the hood that I need to go back and get in order to make this thing work?
