HELP with 01' cd player

I have a 2001 subrban which has a stock radio. When you put a cd in it reads error on the display. Any ideas or people with same problem. Any help is appreciated. Thanks

I had the same problem with my 2000 suburban cd player. The problem is the cooling fan on the cd player is not working so the system gets to hot. I bought another cd off of ebay, and will send out my original cd-radio system to get it repaired. My understanding is that the cooling
fan can be replaced, although I have not found someone to do it yet. New cd/radios run $300-400 and some repair sites say they will fix it for
180 bucks. Also, the ebay route has worked out for me. Goodluck.
