You need a pitman arm puller. You can rent one or borrow from most autopart stores. However, it can still be a bear to remove. I've had to put the whole assy in a vice and heat the arm with a torch, while pounding with a hammer and cranking with a socket/breaker bar.

Thank you for the reply, he did get it off, he said he used a yoke, a whole can of Yeild, and a hammer...
he didnt have anything to heat it up, excpet for the heat of the day and humidity.. LOL
now, he needs to get the bad seals out of there, he said he put it all back together , and on the truck, and he's gonna fill her up with fluid (Steering) and then cranck the truck, and use the hydrulic pressure to blow them out.. as he sat there with a screw driver trying to get them out, and its not happening...
trust me, I'll be back on here tommorow Im sure looking for more advice..
THANK YOU!

Well here we are, ummm day 4 or 5 now...
He did get the bad seals out, and went to AutoZone and bought a Power Steering Repair kit, that has all the seals in it he'll need... problem now, the seals he has, and the things that came out, are all of different thickiness.. hope this is makin sense, what he has to go in there, is to thick compared to the amount of room that is there, and what came out~ any ideas???
there is a snap ring, pressure seal, washer, washer , and another seal from what I can remember... he's out in the garage ,Im in here.. :0)

Just get another steering box from the junkyard and put it in the truck. The extra one can become a hobby and when it's done, you can use it for a boat anchor.
