widebody Integra!!!!!!!!!!

this is going to be my first attempt at putty so go easy on me :) . i cant wait to start with the putty. im going to try to stay away from copying Appleseed's Integra but so far i do know that i will have the vent behind the front wheels made like his. ive already gotten my Milliput but im waiting for some styrene so i can start with that. in the meantime i will be using some thin cardboard to make the shapes that i will cut the styrene into. so far i have cut out one door, the panel for the inside of the door, cut the rear bumper, and sanded down the front lip. so... not much progress but i thought i would show it to you guys and girls because im kind of stuck on the design for the front bumper. so if you guys have any suggestions for the front bumper your welcome to post your ideas.

plans for the widebody Integra:
- vent behind front wheels
- Top Secret GT300 Supra style hood
- single exhaust right in the middle of the rear bumper
- at least one opening door(as i already cut it out)
- turbo???? i dont know how to make one
- i think i want to go with a wing like the one on the Do-Luck R34 but higher
- diffusers on the rear with a litlle lip that sticks out

thats it for now but there will be more.

here is the door. it was really hard to cut out and there is a really big "panel line" left. is this normal?

here is the front lip. i tried to sand it down as much as i could. yes, i know that it is a little crooked... needs to be fixed.

pic of the side without the door.

rear bumper. i think i used the stock Integra bumper because i wanted the word INTEGRA on the back but it might end up covered with putty. the bigger area in the middle will be where the exhaust will be and the diffusers will be on the side.

like i said... not much progress but i need some suggestions for the front bumper so post your ideas please. thanks.

:feedback: on my ideas.

o and by the way... this is the Revell Integra.

edit: any color suggestions? i was thinking orange or white but other suggestions are welcome.

hmmm... how do i go about making that bumper? i was thinking something like this:
- cut up the lip that came with the kit for the two little rectangles on the bottom of the bumper
- use .40 plastic sheet for the middle
- drill out the two things on each side and carve with my knife
- fix up with some putty

question: you know the side of the bumper? the upper half? it looks flat right? so should i cut out the entire side and put a piece of plastic there?

Search the normal part of the forum for B16 Turbo

ok... thanks. i think i have enough stuff to build the turbo now. i guess i am going to cut off the intake that comes with the model and use it on the turbo.

any major progress will most likely be stalled until next week.

sorry if i get yelled at for bringing up an old thread but i figured since this was a progress thread...

does anyone have any tips for sanding the putty? i wish i had used more styrene cuz im having a hard time sanding the putty. it becomes all powdery on the sand paper. anyways... no pics now, but i will go work on my model after lunch. so far i have putty and styrene on the body and on the hood.

Take your time as mike stated, and use various grits of sand paper. Starting from 300grit to 2000 grit. Also, wetsanding will reduce the amount to powder on the sandpaper. (has to be wet/dry sand paper tho)
I cant see how you need tips on sanding? :eek7: :disappoin

lol... ok, i guess i was wondering if it was supposed to get so powdery.

ok everyone, got some stuff done. i put the door back in cuz i had done a very poor job on cutting it out. i used Bondo to put it back in place and then scribed the lines into the Bondo.

try not to use glazy spot putty.........never use one part putty........it shrinks over time and cracks.......... good start on the front....

well i used milliput epoxy putty first, then some Bondo. isn't Bondo used for filling cracks and little holes? and also used in thin layers, right?

thanks!

i started this project... a little less than a year ago. i remember it was getting cold here and i would be sitting in my garage with shorts and a t-shirt on applying putty while i was shivering. good stuff, haha. i had planned for this project to go nowhere after i stopped building for awhile. it was supposed to go in my garage diorama then(whenever i got around to building it...) but now that i started puttying stuff allover the place i decided to bring it out. plus i wanted the intake for my Skyline intake  .

Yeah I tried making a turbo civic ...it failed but that what i did or tried to do that intake pipe should run behind the left side tail light as a cold air then the turbo should have another sepreat intake filter that shoots out infront of the engine...I wish you better luck then what i had...

i was going to make some kind of opening door, but gave up(because i suck at cutting out doors) and molded the door back in.

if this is the revell kit with 5 sets of wheels i picked the same one up last night! i think i am going to try for a widebody as well...i will try to keep it from looking like yours :P

g00eY
08-28-2005, 07:18 PM
i think mine only had 3 sets of wheels. this is the Revell kit, it has a yellow Integra on the front. well... i kinda ripped off of appleseed's widebody Integra, and kinda not. i tried to just get the vent behind the front wheel partly after i saw his, and also at the time i was obsessed with the Top Secret widebody Supra.

the kit came with 4 sets. a type r set, a formula looking set, some spokes and a set of 10 or 12 spokes....YAY! just need more tires so i can use them on other stuff :( i am going to try and make mine look kind od like the nizmo 350(i think that is what it was)
