question about o2 sensors

i have a 2001 eclipse gt. it has a 3.0 6 cylinder. i was putting on headers and i damaged my after converter o2 sensor. i'm going to have to splice the wires cause i need to extend the length of the sensor. i was wondering if all odb2 (or mitisubishi) cars had the same sensor/readings as far as the o2 sensors are concerned. any info would be appriciated.

saw that no one was replying to your post either so i thought i'd give it a wirl. not sure exactly what you are asking. are you looking to put a different o2 sensor in your car or what? you can pick one up at a local auto parts store for around $20. splicing the wires shouldn't be problem. just make sure the wires are away from the exhaust pipes.

what happened was that when i removed the manifold, it fell on the o2 sensor and broke it. i'm going to need another one for after the converter (heated o2 sensor i believe) and they wanted like $200 for it at autozone. i wasn't sure if all o2 sensors gave the same reading and the only difference was the wiring harness or if each o2 sensor gives different readings as far as voltages are concerned.

man...i guess the realization is that mitsu parts are a little more expensive. honestly...i'm not sure there is a cheap solution to your problem. there is not an o2 sensor that i know of that can be easily swaped and i would fork out the extra dough and get the factory one. what will happen is, you will get a cheaper one and it may work for a month or so, but it will eventually poop out because it's not made for the car and you'll end up spending the cash for the right one. drop the cash and get the one that's made for it dude. sorry. i will keep thinking about ways around it though.
