FIrst project...EVER....need help...door problems

Hello guys.
I've been collecting diecast cars for about a year now but i want to start something new.
I want to customize my favorite car ever, a 93-98 supra.
I saw a few people with the butterfly doors (lambo doors, vdc doors, gullwing doors) and i really liked them.
I would really appreciate it if someone can help me with the making the doors because i am completly clueless.
A step by step with pics tut would be nice.

Looks fairly simple

I have not started yet but this is what i want to do:

1. new paint job
2. custom interior
3. custom decals
4. underbody neon kit
5. verticle doors
6. custom engine wiring
7. custom speakers, subs, & amps

Have not started so dont have pics yet

Just wait a little bit for the pictures

I suppose I can attempt a shot at helping, I've been planning on buying a Jada Supra to snag the wheels, wing, and interior, but I'll see if I can make a vertical door, if I manage I'll give you the progress pictures I will take :D Good Luck

Please do Petet, I really like the angle you're getting with the doors on the 350Z. The first picture doesn't quite explain the hing. Perhaps you could give us a picture of the hinge while its attached to the car?

Oh you dont have to wait for me to make up a tutorial, we can have more then one way to do it, the more the merrier

ive always wondered about the lambo doors though, ive played around with a few ideas but they dont seem to work :/. cant wait for the tut!

just like oi boy, ive tried a few things.
one of them was trying to take the hinge of a maisto lambo and weld them or something like it to the jada supra.
That didn't work.

I just thought of a way that is similar and maybe easier than PETET's(I dont know maybe), that I will try out today, using some thin strong wire that I found at a gardening store. If it works I will make a tutorial

I could make a tutorial for scissor doors for MotorWorks models, but I'm not to sure that MotorWorks are too popular in this forum, if they are, I can do a scissor door tutorial
