Cat. Converter

I have a 2" Hi flow cat. converter. Is it possible to weld the cat to the stock 5th gen pipes?

If not, is it possible to weld the cat to larger pipings then the actual size of the cat to gain some performance increase?
Why i ask? My stock cat converter is done and needs a replacement before my emmision testing...

Any help is appreciated.
