New Tattoo.

yeah so i got ink today. $100 CDN, which i don't think is bad at all, and it took about an hour. done by Mitch at Stinger Tattoo in Newmarket, Ontario. i highly recommend them.

and yes, it's supposed to look sketchy like that.

the tattoo is a symbol from a story written by the lead singer of Coheed & Cambria.

the triangle is called The Heaven's Fence, and is a series of 78 planets lined up in a triangular shape. the circles are stars, called The Stars Of Sirius, and provide power to these planets. the whole symbol is called The Keywork.

even without the interesting story behind it..i still like the tat...

J/P Brian -very tidy ink, I reckon that forearm spot is an awesome place for tattoos. But remember mate, if you have a hot summers day in an office work environment, you'll still need a long sleeve shirt to cover it up.

anyways, thanks for the comments guys! it's stinging quite a bit today, but that's all part of the healing process. probably the most excrutiating pain i've felt in a while was holding it under the jets in the shower in order to wash it.

yeah that was dave (toksin) playing a little joke on me.



the caption of the second picture was "if you get sprayed with an unknown substance, stand and think about an idea for a cool new tattoo". originally, the thought box had a bio-hazard symbol in it. but since my tattoo looks very similar to the bio-hazard symbol, dave thought (and thought wrong i might add :tongue: ) that it would be funny to photoshop a picture of my tattoo into the thought box instead.

with the moisturizer, I don't know why he told you to wait a week. I have two tatts, and I was told to put lotion on and keep it on. Just make sure there's no scent/fragrance in it. They make a moisturizer called Tattoo Goo, and it works great. Lubriderm lotion also works pretty well. But you might wanna double check the one week bit. You want to keep the scab on as long as possible for the best ink binding into the skin, and to do that they need to stay moist, ESPECIALLY in a spot like that, where the skin moves a lot. When I got the one on my arm, after it had scabbed over (AKA next day), I had lotion on it 24/7.

don't worry, Em. it's been almost 2 months now (got the tat August 27th) and she's healed up beautifully.

there's a couple of slightly lighter spots that i might take in for a touch-up sometime, but they're not even bad enough to worry about.
