Is there any way to program the BCM for a new Fog lamp installation without going to a Dealer. I own an OTC scanner but cant find an option for BCM

I bought a factory fog light set off eBay and then found out you have to have the computer programmed. That would cost as much as the lights. So, I bought a relay, some wire and a switch. I installed the switch in the cargo light switch box, drilled a hole next to where the the throttle cable goes thru the firewall and used a grommet. Got power to drive the relay from the box near the floor behind the brake pedal. The main power for the lights comes from the breaker box on the fender under the hood. The two things you need to watch is getting a good 12volt source to the switch and making sure it goes off with the key. What you don't want to use is a source carrying data or one that stays on with the key off. Then your lights would stay on after you turned the truck off and had the switch on.

It couldn't hurt to call or visit a few dealers if you can just to see what they would charge for reprogramming the BCM. Others have posted here in the past that they got a low price once they run into a reasonable service manager. Not all dealers will charge the same.
