1994 Infinity J30 headlight problems....any help greatly appriciated.

Sometimes my headlights work fine, sometimes just the right one works, and sometimes none of them work. When I put the high beem's on, if one or both of the lights are out, the high beem symbol does not appear on the dash, but if one light is working the high beem will come on....It changes randomly.

How much should I expect to pay to have this fixed....anyone know whats wrong? Its definitally not a problem with the bulbs, but rather something with the switch (for example, closing the car door caused the right light to go out)

thanks

Did you have any luck finding the source of your J30 headlight problem? I have the exact same problem on my 1993 J30T, and the dealership (3 hours away) suggested it has to be either the Daytime Running Light Module, or the headlight switch. The DRL Module is just a relay, and is identical to the Rear Window defogger relay. I swapped the two with no change to the headlight problem, so am assuming it is indeed the headlight switch. Since the dealership is so far away, I was wondering if you knew if the headlight switch is located in the steering column attached to the arm, or if it is mounted more remotely, and more accessible.

Thanks in advance

This is posted by Jesus on other website, I bring it to recommand you:
" Well, I have a used Infinity J-30 (94) and well I got for 2,500 I notice that the timing belt was replace and well the old was dirty, but I change that. Also I try to find the wipers, but In my I can't buy the wipers I have to buy just the blades because what ever show on the computer in the dealership is not the same with my car. ONE IMPORTANT THING FOR EVERYONE ONE IF YOU ARE HAVING TROUBLE WITH YOUR FRONT LIGHT (MOST THE PASSENGER SIDE) THAT TURN ON THEN OFF IT BECAUSE OF A RELAY IT CALL THE HEADLIGHT-RELAY AND IT LOCATED IN CLOSE TO THE FIRE WALL ON THE DRIVER SIDE. WHAT YOU DO IS OPEN THE HOOD AND GO TO WERE THE FIREWALL IS IN THE DRIVER SIDE AND TELL SOMEONE ELSE TO TURN THE LIGHT YOU WILL HEAR A CLICKING SOUND WHERE THAT IS COMING FROM LIKE A LITTLE BLACK BOX THAT THE PART THAT MAKES THE LIGHT TURN ON AND WHAT HAPPENS IS WITH TIME THE LITTLE BOX HAVE LIKE A SWITCH AND GET POWER, but WITH THE TIME THEY DO GET MORE POWER WHAT IS BEST IS TO GO GET A NEW ONE. O ONE MORE THING IF YOU OR ANY I HAVE A ADVISE SO IT WON'T COST YOU MONEY TO TAKE THAT PART OFF. WHAT YOU DO IS WHEN THE FRONT DRIVER TIRE IS YOU SEE 3 BOLTS YOU TAKE THEM OF AND ON TOP OF THE HOOD YOU ARE GO TO TAKE THE BLACK THING UP (WHICH LOOKS LIKE A TOP) AND IT WILL GIVE YOU SPACE TO TAKE OF THE RELAY. WELL IF YOU LIKE TO FIND MORE GO GIVE ME A E-MAIL AT Jesus_Trevi@hotmail.com if you have questions.
