idle control valve

Does anyone kno anything about how to clean out the idle control valve? mine is sticking open and im getting a high idle, if i open the throttle and let it go back to idle it idles fine, but if i have the throttle open for a while (hioghway driving) it idles high......would carb cleaner or anything like that make it unsticky? (if thats a word) :sly:
