95 golf vs 98 sc2

Hey all just bored here figured I would start a thread see if any of you can answer my question. Well I have a buddy of mine who had a 98 saturn sc2 1.9l 5spd. and my girlfriends dad has a 95 vw gold 2.0 also 5spd. Well I have argued many of times with my budy that the golf is faster then his and he just wont here it. whats you alls opinion (does anyone have any experience racing a saturn) For those of you that are going to say just race them I cant first of the golf aint mine to and also at the moment the saturn is wrecked (my buddy got hit by a drunk driver) aslo I have driven both cars and I belive the golf would win hands down.

The Saturn would likely be faster ... it weighs in at 200+ lbs less than the Golf, and has a DOHC it makes the same torque as the Golf while putting out 9 more horsepower.
The Golf's power band is slightly lower, but probably not enough to make up for the slight difference in output ... but really, there wouldn't be a huge difference anyway.

But more importantly, the Golf is a VW, whereas the Saturn is a Rubbermaid car :p

agree with you I would take a vw over a saturn.
but I would also take a honda over a vw anyday.....

whoa... those can't be right, it has the SC2 as faster than the new Golf R32 :eek:
