Bus Stop Chicane

Does anybody know why they changed (and in my mind ruined) this famous turn at Spa?

No idea. I've seen it on TV during a Euro F3000 race and during Friday F1 practice and it now seems like just another corner. But let's give it a chance and see what happens in the race proper.

To my way of thinking the Bus Stop was never a "classic" corner, just a convenient overtaking place. Seems its now not even the latter. I'm sure there was some "safety" reason for it :rolleyes: A fair few accidents used to happen there. Not because it was dangerous IMHO but because it was the best place to overtake, therefore everybody was driving closer to the edge. All part of the sanitization of Formula One.

At this rate it won't be long till somebody decides it is too dangerous/expensive to run real cars at all and instead just punch the numbers into a computer simulation. Winner to be announced at the push of a button :screwy:

yeah they should have left the corner the way it was, by the way did any one see the
crash with the toyota it looked massive.
