Sluggish 96 GLE

I bought a '96 GLE auto about a month ago. It has 117,000 miles and looks good inside and out. I've changed the PCV valve, fuel and air filters, used STP fuel injector cleaner, and am running premium gas. Take off is pretty good but if i'm driving at a slow speed and then step on it, it hesitates. During this time it sounds like it's clogged up. Also gas mileage isn't good. I drive about 40miles/day and a full tank doesn't last an entire work week. Any advise would help.

Check your ECU for ghost codes; I wouldn't be surprised to see 0304, knock sensor.

dude whats it matter if he has an intake or not that wouldnt or shouldnt have anything to do with his max being sluggish. this is 2nd thread i've seen you ask people if they have an intake, if your looking for somebody to race look around ur city/town or take it to the racing forum, this is for maxima talk not to ask everybody if they have an intake to try and find somebody to race... anyways back ON TOPIC... i have no clue what could be causing your car to be sluggish like that but maybe a knock sensor or oxygen sensor fucking up, or it could be all sorts of things..

To add on, a failing knock sensor has been known to decrease power by ~15-20fwhp. That's a frightening amount.

While getting that checked, I'd also check the oxygen sensors as well for that poor mileage.

hey diablo dont talk to me like that when you dont even know why i asked that...i asked if he had an intake on it cuuz i had an intake on my max and that killed my gas mileage and horsepower..so if he does theres a good chance thats the reason
