How much horsepower (approx.) could a 97 Civic Ex with AEM cold air intake, Neuspeed headers, AEM pulleys, and an HKS exhaust get?

i'd say 140-145 at the fly :) thats a guess ...aem about 5-7 headers 3-5 exhaust 5-8:right:

I don't know about the headers part. There is really minimal gains with headers. Doesn't your car already come with 4|1 headers on it already? The other stuff sounds about right. The only way I would go with headers is if I am making significant changes to the engine i.e. cams, gears, TB, intake manifold, etc. You're not going to see much of a difference with the headers.

all the numbers are close... but it depends on if you are looking at overall numbers, or just spikes...
the header has alot of power up high.... same with the intake and exh... lowend tends to suffer a li'l bit with mods on a 4cyl car....
but figure an honest 4-8 from an intake
2-6 from exh
and a really honest 1-4 from a header

these are sort of homologation numbers i've seen from scc and super street mags..
all of these can, of course have a ten hp spike in there... but it may be at like 7k rpm... most of us dont drive there all the time...
look for what gives most power in mid to low, b/c regardless of what people say, that is where the motor spins the most....

I surely didn't know my post would spark such an interesting debate! Nor did I know that guy's found it appealing for a girl to talk about a car. I'm actually glad I know that. Some guys look at ya kinda strange when you ask what mods they've made to their car, as if I, a girl, should know nothing about such things. Thanks for all the replies and help.

this has nothing to do with anything on here, but I was on my way home froma party and i hit a deer. poor deer. I didn't mean to kill it. Rreally. I dont liek to kill anything. Im a nice girl. my car is screwed up. Its smoking and I the hood is all popped up. i don't care about that as much as i care about that deer. awww, i feel bad. im a murderer. I love deer. really. Omigosh. I just killed bambi.

dont worry... you arent a killer, kate... if you intentionally swerved at the deer to hit it, then you are a murderer... if it was out of your control, and there was nothing you could do, it was simply a casualty of the night...
also, deer will die on impact, especially with a car, so dont think that the deer suffered...
now its time to fix your car kiddo...
and think about it, if you had slowed down, the deer coulda come through the windshield and killed you, so be thankful that you are alive...

i highly doubt that. the rated hp of a 97 ex is 116 hp. but, actual wheel hp is around 90-100hp. her hp to the ground if lucky, will be around 100-110 hp. at the flywheel you'll be looking at 130-140 hp.

my friend has a 96 Ex 5spd. his bolt ons are, apc air intake, skunk 2 cam gear, b&m fuel pressure regulator, nology hotwires, dc sport 4-2-1 headers, test pipe, act clutch w/ 8lb flywheel, and Apexi N1 Exhaust, and he dynoed in at a little over 116 hp to the ground. she'll be lucky to break 100 hp.
