Key stuck in ignition.

I have just recently purchased a 97' s-10 zr2 from a car lot and about a week after I had it the key wouldn't come out of the ignition. I played with it and finally got the key to come out. The key still gets stuck from time to time. So I took apart the center councol where the auto shifter is and there is a switch that is only disengauged when it is in park. Do you think that the switch is bad? And that is the reason that the problem is intermitant. Has anyone else had this problem whith their s-10's? Or if anyone has any suggestions for me please let me know.

I had a loaner car for a while with the same problem, and I just had to really push the shifter hard into park to get the key out. There must be an adjustment there somewhere.
