School

As I have stated in a previous thread...I am not very fond of school right now. I am starting my 4th year. I graduate with a bachelors in...I think psych in May but I have another 3 before I can enter the work force. I am really not sure that I want to be a Physical Therapist anymore but I don't know what else I could be. I'm tired of going to school, I know that isn't what I want to do. Does anyone feel like this ab school or work or have any kind of input? Cause anything at this point would be greatly appreciated. Today the thought of dropping out has gotten more and more appealing..... :disappoin

Nobody likes school. I say grit your teeth and bare it. Youve already put in 3 years, and dropping out would only make those 3 years the biggest waste of time. You would regret that forever

....i'm at a loss for words Mr.T.......
ok now that i've got my composure...please don't quit school, because you still have to pay for the loans and whatnot if you drop out of college...which sucks, because you'd have to pay for something that you didn't even get a degree out of......my policy is to finish what you start. it'll add character, and who's to say that you won't like it down the road? come on, it won't hurt you to finish your final year. If you want to work during those 3 years, then why not have a part time job somewhere else? that way you'll still be receiving cash, and paying off the loans:2cents:

I agree, if you stuck it out this far, why not continue. You will only regret it later on. Besides mos employers like to see that you completed your years.

Nothing? I'm sure you got credits and $2000 isn't that bad.
Use your credits to go somewhere else.

I was pressured into a school I didn't like, taking classes I didn't like, not to mention I wasn't ready to go to college yet. I got a D and 3 F's. Don't wanna transfer them.

I know what you mean...I just started at a community college this week. Boy do I hate it soooooo much...well mostly the classes, but everything else like meeting new people is cool. I just wish i wouldn't have wasted $2000 on it. I know I'm not going to learn anything, hell my ENGLISH teacher doesn't grade spelling, punctuation, or grammar and this is English 101 not the retard english and she didn't even show up for class today.

I always thought English in college is more about critical thinking than anything else.
Plus, English 101 is the lowest english class that actually counts toward a degree. Just wait til 103 and higher.

i made it out of a major university just barely..my GPA dropped a ton cuzz i rushed to get out cuzz i was done with it , plus i couldnt really afford it anymore..i think its well worth it considering the jobs u can get with a degree in anything are way better than just a HS degree..my gf was feeling the same way about her major, pharmacy, and funny enough she changed to physical therapy. I think you should go for a teaching degree. Teachers don't get paid crap, but its more money than any HS job, you get 2 months off outta the year, you are mostly in control over what you do everyday, you get good benefits, and its only as stressful as you want it to be. There are also a lot of other good 4 yr majors that probably arent the most stressful, but could lead to good jobs like MIS, journalism, Radio Television and Film, communications, advertising, and so on ..its not fair to make an 18 going into college decide on the carreer for the rest of their lives...most people pick the wrong major..i think in my university 80% switch majors, and like 50% switch several times

I've switched my major 3 times in 3 years. I started as a bio/pre-pt major, then i was health administration/pre-pt major with a minor in bio, and now I'm a psych/pre-pt major. The hard thing ab me picking a job is that I cant sit still. I cant sit at a desk all day and I'm a people person. I think part of my problem is that this is the 3rd college I've been to and I'm just bored with the whole college idea. I want to just be done with it but I know I'm not gonna be done for a long ass time.....Its just so frustrating! AHHHH!

well teaching u would be interacting all day, advertising you could get a chance to work with different people. My gf's aunt did advertising and has met a bunch of pop stars like britney and justin. You can also do consulting where you travel the country maybe even other countries. or maybe college just isnt ur thing. If you are getting financial aide then just take a bunch of fun classes like sex ed and history of rock and roll and then get out..i forget how long your credits last, but it should be long enough to give u a break and still be able to go back if you need to. theres also stuff like trade school or nite classes you can take if you still want anything more but it won't be nearly as expensive or time consuming. and if all else fails just drop out and marry a rich guy!

Money isnt the issue, if I say and take bs classes, its just wasting my fathers money. One of my older brothers is in advertising and he loves it but I don'tknow, I don't think that's for me. I've always loved the human body, muscles and such. For a while i wanted to be a surgeon and I still like the idea of being a Physical Therapist, I've been to them enough, I just hate school right now. I wish there was a way to get the degree without having to deal with this bs. I have to get a degree in something. My father has paid for me to transfer from 3 schools, my older brothers all have degree's in something (even though one is in the Marines now) In my family, you have to go to college and make something of yourself. Hard to explain but I need to at least have a bach. in something or I don't want to think of what my family will say/do.

They wouldnt let you take a yr off or maybe just a semester off. Explain to them you need a breather. You can work and save up to pay off some of that tuition for the next semester. I mean thats if you really wanna get out of school. Maybe this feeling will wear off once u get into the college life agian(keggers, football games ,events..) My gf has had a lot of pressure from her family. They want her to be either a nurse or pharmacists and hated it when she finally transfered out. There was no pressure with me since my older sister never graduated college and neither had any of my parents. Money was our biggest issue.
