If your using street tires then no big burnout, just drive around the waterbox straighten out your wheels and spin them a few times to clean them.
I'd launch at idle on street tires.
Go on the 2nd yellow dont wait for green.
When u get to the track walk around and check out where everything is located and ask someone what staging lanes are being used for what cars.

well the track was awsome my best time was [email protected]. i tried playing around w/ the tire pressuse. the best i found it 45 in the rear and 37ish at the front. w/ 37 i would just bareld spin the tires. also i took out that sensor in the intake for that run, a guy w/ a gtp suggested that to me. and ha guess what else i beat a 2004 mustang gt. the kid didnt know how to drive, but by the end of the night he was running 14.8. but at about 10ish it drizzled for about 5 minutes so they closed the track down and i got 10 runs for free, cause we all got rain checks. got to love that wisconsin weather. any sugestions on how to break that 15.4 barrier??? and also i just couldnt get over 87.6 for the life of me ne suggestions for that?

there's all kinds of ways to break that barrier but what kind of budget and mechanical know-how do you have?

Ok to start with pull everything out of your car that you don't need. Jack, spare, mats, even matt out of truck. If don't need it, get rid of it.
I ran a guy that should have killed me. When he got back to the pits, he opened his truck and took out a beer! I walked over and looked. It looked like he was moving. He had two tool boxes, the cooler and a change of clothes.
Then after all that, buy a GTP. Mod the hell out of it and run 12's.
Only kidding. Weight is a killer. Keep your widows up when your running. Pull the fuse on your traction control. Don't manually shift. And the list goes on.

I'm going to take it that you drive a GT, right?
I'd more then likely put a K&N filter and 160 stat. For a $150.00 and needing them by Friday there's not too much time or money.
Get a hold of GTPCatz, Carnutcass, Big L, and Ripn12s they always seem to have the answers. All of them seem to be right on. If I left anyone out I'm sorry.
By the way, I have two cars that will run 10's (and very low 10's). But the cars that seem to be the most fun are the ones that run 14.99. Enjoy and save some of that money for your retirement .

i don't know about ls1 springs. the titanium retainers will lighten the load. if your gonna go with springs and retainers you should save up and get the whole kit of stronger springs, lighter retainers, pushrods and a set of higher ratio roller rockers. i would even take it a machine shop and have the springs checked for correct spring rate and for squareness. sometimes manufacturers send faulty equipment. the gain will be about 10-15hp(depends on which rocker ratio you go with)but you will have faster reving engine and it will almost elimate valve float. this way it should be cheaper and save time because now your becoming a horsepower junkie. once you hit 14's, the first thing that you think about is, how do i get to 13's. but hey, its not such a bad thing, as long as you do it right. i stole that last part from my engine performance teacher.
