they sell royal purple on racing beat so it must work fine
S4 is the 86-88 models and S5 is the 89-91 models
SE just means it has more options probably, doesn't really matter if you ask me...
oh and I use castrol 10-40 in kansas year round.... you should be fine with that since you have a non-turbo
S4 best model is the 10th AE but thats a turbo, then the regular turbos... then umm... well the GTU is the lightest, the GXL has the most options I think... but whatever, they are all the same basically so it doens't matter
oh and your engine is a 1.3 rotary wankel.... has 2 rotors... etc... hopefully you know this all already, if not you need to look it up... google is your friend

10w 40?? damn...do most people use oil that thick in their rotaries? I thought they would like the thin stuff like 5w20 or 5w30...

40-90 degrees use 10w30
90+ degrees use 20w50
Most people recommend and use (as do I) Castrol GTX

yea castrol GTX is the stuff... most people with non-turbos that I know of use 10-40, thats whats recommended for most temperatures on a stock non-turbo... now the turbos usually use 20-50 I think, some might use lower in cold areas but I haven't heard of any myself
I think theres a thread like a week or 2 back where like 5 of us said what oil we use, I think like 4 of us said 10-40(all NA) and J-rat said 20-50(he has a turbo)
