Seems like newbies always give credit to the R34 only. You cant froget the R32, or my fav, the R33.

True i'm a newbie with cars, I love all Skylines, R33 and R34 are my favorites, and I don't like them because I saw them in movies like The Fast And The Furious, they are ugly skylines anyway...
I'm too young to know the R32.

I own a 33 - but also regularly drive a friend's 34. Nothing beats the MFD for pointless car gadget fun :)

What so you want to know?
Yes they are fast - in all ways. Yes they handle well. Fantastic on a sweeping curving road, not great on super-twisty hill climbs.

Cars faster than a GTR in hills/twisties: EVO Lancer, WRX STi - anything small and nimble with reasonable power-to-weight.

The GTR is a big, heavy car - it handles very well, but is much better suited to 'sweeping' bends to maintain high speed. The HICAS 4WS and active differential are difficult to get used to on tight corners. The turbos are not effectual under 3700 RPM - so much more lag than NA and some other turbo cars.

I think the R34 is more beautiful, I don't like this car because of 2f2f, that will be noobish, I know this car since I play car games like grand turismo, why I love the car ? no idea, but she's beautiful and i'm ready to do anything to get it.

R32, no idea what's cool with it, maybe specs, but I check the exterior of the car, speed is illegal where I come from anyway.
I wont say i'll get a skyline for drag, because you'll say i'm a newbie again right ???

i'm looking for someone who can teach and show me things about cars: Rpm, NA, HICAS, I have no idea what it mean...

but I think the NA is a kinda drivetrain or something

RPM: revolutions per minute - the speed the engine is running. Higher RPM, more power (to a point)

HICAS: the 4-wheel-steering system on the Skyline. The rear wheels turn to assist stability and cornering prowess of the car at high speed.

NA: Naturally aspirated - ie: not turbo charged or super charged.

Drag: GTRs are very good for drag racing due to their ability to run very high power and the 4WD drivetrain. They are also very well suited to track-racing as they handle and corner very well.

Unless you live in Germany (and only then on the autobahn) - speeding is universally illegal. That's why you go to the racetrack or drag strip. Fun, safe and legal.

Thats cool if you are a R34 fan. I like the car also, but I just notice too many ricers who talk about them like they are God's gift to man. Which is why I'm so hard on the newbis. Skylines can make BIG HP, but I think a Supra TT would make a better drag car. RWD, and can make just as much (if not, more) power as the GTRs.

LOL there's alot of better cars in the world. and i'm hard on the newbies who like cars because they saw one in a movie.the fast and the furious is a good exemple, everyone I know now want a mitsubishi clipse, green, like in the movie, I agree it's a cool car, but I think the modified cars are personal settings and relect a way you like your car, but if you copy a car from someone else "way of thinking" that's newbie

You really should do some research about the Skylines before you pass judgements. If it weren't for the success of the R32 GTR, the R33 and R34 wouldn't be what they are today.

Stock to Stock

In a 1/4 the R32 is quicker. Around a large circut the R34 is slighly quicker. Smaller circut R32 is quicker.

The R32 is the lightest, smallest, and nimblest, but also the twitchiest of the lot. The R34 is the heaviest and widest while the R33 is the longest. The R32 GTR changed the face of racing in Japan in the JGTC and also in the Australian Touring car series. Rules where constantly changed to slow them down and bring the others into line. Even today if the rules were to be relaxed once again the GTR's would completely dominate from the word go. Even the mighty supra's, who btw don't even use the factory motors. They use the 4 cyl from an MR2 and have for the past 5 years. In the Australian series they couldn't get the V8 powered cars to remain competitive so the governing body changed the rules in order to rid the series of all turbo'ed cars, 2 doors, etc.

Even today the quickest Japanese car in the 0-300kmh sprint remains the Veilside R32 combat car. For the puriest the R32 is what started it all and remains the one true "Godzilla".

You really shouldn't put too much value in Grand Turismo. They car's don't handle nor do they even remotely sound like that in real life. I know trust me.

sure I never thought there handling and the sounds were true sounds because they all have the same in Gt2 lol.

but from those games, I learned the car company, I didn't knew anything about cars, now I know some company and logos like nismo, mazda speed, rallyart..well you get the picture right ?

when I 1st played this game, my friend was driving the R32 Silouhette Formula, I was laughing at him, and he was drining few skylines, each time I was earing "Skyline" I was laughing at him, but few months after, I fell in love with it, and I think the silouhette is pretty nice

Grand Torismo is a very good game comapred to others like NFS: Underground, and the new Street Racing Syndicate, who are just WAY off. I so think the GT games are pretty good, even though I think they made the R32 way too slow, and the R34 way TOO fast. They should make somethings different, but other than that I think they did a good job. Oh, and about the JGTC, I didnt know they used different engines in those supras. Why not, the 2JZ is a very good engine, that can compete with the RB. They should have used it. Does anyone know why they didnt?

well in Gt games, the cars are all too slow, we can go at 230 Mph with the Suzuki Escudo, but the way they made the game, the car look too slow

hmmmm, you know what, I dont know what 2JZ-GTE stands for. Maybe someone at the Supra threads might know. Does anyone here know why they dont use the 2JZ for the JGTC?????????

JGTC: All Japan Touring Cars series.

The Silhouette Formula (Tomica livery racecar) is an R30, not R32.

Engine nomenclature

Toyota 2JZ-GTE: 2nd generation JZ series engine with twin cam (G), turbo (T) and fuel injected (E)

Nissan RB26DETT: RB series engine with 2.6L, dual cam (D), fuel injected (E) and two turbos (TT)



From what I remember - they used a modifed 4 cyl in the JGTC supras - presumably for torque response and weight distribution. Mind you - GTRs still used the RB26...

As far as games go - GT3 had an excellent representation of the GTR performance... for a game. GT4 prologue is better - the ATTESSA 'bite' is more realistic this time - but those gear changes... S L O W :)

I played GT4 Prologue (bootleg version) snd I though it looked extremly nice. I cant wait for GT4 to come out here in the US not too long from now.
