first off, hello... i am a newb (make fun of me if you want) and have some questions about my 1996 Acura integra LS

1 what is the best setup (motorwise) for my integra and what is the best way to get there... ie: i dont want to get a bunch of bolt on parts if it means i could just drop in a new engine and get the same results and then bolt on to it (i dont want to do any backtracking)

2 has anyone put any sound deadening board into their integra, and if so, what kind of results did you get

i ran a search on both these topics and nothing showed up, but if i missed it, tell me

If you're looking for the best straight motor swap (not looking to use forced induction on it) then the best engine is probably the Integra Type R engine (190hp US engine, 200hp japanese version).
I know there have been a few posts about the sound deadening (it was in a civic but still) but I can't remember who posted it. But I do remember they liked it a lot and it cut out a ton of road noise and kept the sound system inside the car.

thanks...

where can i go to start pricing the engine and to find one... a major question i have is whether i will have to make new motor mounts during the swap, or do they all run out of the same mounts

there are a few places to try, I'll give ya links to some: www.totaljdm.com (http://www.totaljdm.com), www.hmotorsonline.com (http://www.hmotorsonline.com), and www.passwordjdm.com (http://www.passwordjdm.com) (last one is the best price for the ITR that I've seen $4,000.) You should be able to use the mounts you have in there now, should be the same.

Yeah honestly I don't know why it's just the 92-00 civic swap guide when it could just as easily be used for Integras too.

engine swaps come with trannies, axles, and computers 99% of the time.

First, tell us what you want to do with the car. If you want all motor, the b18c5 (type r) engine is an awesome starting point. Another option for either FI or NA is the h22. Your handling will suffer a little bit, but it won't matter too much unless you are doing autox. If you want to go FI, your best option is to keep the stock engine. It has a fairly low c/r, and it has tall turbo-friendly gearing.

Yeh if goin turbo keep the engine. IF goin all motor, gsr (cheaper) or type r is the best way to go. Bolts right in but you need to wire up the v-tec.

with an ls engine allready in there , all you need is to swap a vtec head and wire up vtec...... goldeneaglemfg.com has the kit to run oil pressure up to your vtec solenoid and a oil line for your turbo......
