Car:1991 Buick Skylark 3.3L/3300 4 Dr ---Just got this car, that has been sitting for 8 months, and it has a few issues that I need to resolve before I can drive it...Here are the symptoms
I put a new battery in it, car ran good for the first 10 miles, put few gallons gas in, and ever since it has been stalling, not wanting to run, barely will idle...Also, The drivers window will roll down, but then will not roll up, unless you wait a few minutes then it will go up a few inches then stop for another few minutes...The passenger side won't go down at all, so I don't know if it will go up-the back two are fine, no problems. The speedometer works on and off, it usually wont start to work until the motor starts to stall, then it picks up...Very sporatic, it seemed to be working fine in the first 10 miles, now it is acting up with the rest of the things.

If anyone has had these issues or heard of a fix for them we would appreciate your reply! Any help is great!!

it sounds like you need to adjust the air fuel mixture, i had the same problem with my 84 and i ajusted the carb but it still stalls everyonce in awhile. it sounds like you may have a loose ground somehwhere in the electrical system.

Window problem, try looking behind the drivers kick panel in the large wire bundle for wires that have broken because of severe bending by the normal opening and closing of the door. You could simple have worn out window motors. Also, your window tracks NEED to be lubricated with SILICONE spray. Engine problem, 3.3L have issues with vacumm leaks, crank sensors, and ignition modules. Also try pouring in a can of SEAFOAM in the gas, available from most parts stores. -Chris

Thanks for the replies...I have found that the spedometer, and a/c, fuel gauge seem to only work occasionally...Sometimes if you can keep it running enough to drive, the speedo will be resting on 0, then shoot up to the speed you are doing...while the speedo is not working, neither will the A/C or fuel gauge, but as soon as the speedo kicks in, the A/C blows super cold! Any ideas on this one?? I have found out that the PCV valve needs replacing, so will do that this weekend, going to replace some other sensors while I am at it, just in case!

Let me know what you think...

You have some dash problems, I would suspect a bad ground under the dash somewhere. Is there an aftermarket stereo in there? If so, someone could have goofed up the wires and giving you these wierd problems. -Chris
