Cruise Control

Okay, so like while driving my gf to possible grad schools today, I was testing out the cruise control feature (first time for my GT) on the car and damn, every time I set it the car starts eating gas like crazy. Isn't cruise control supposed to save gas? Does this happen to you guys to? Seriously, I was getting WAY better gas mileage with regular driving than with cruise control. :(

what were you driving conditions? For example, using cruise on hilly roads isn't recommendable b/c your car will have to accelerate then decelerate to maintain the same speed on those hills.

There were some hilly (LOL-sounds funny) areas but most of it was flat.

Cruise control works fine for me, what gear and what rpms were you in/at? When I set mine on the highway(only time I ever use it) I put it in 6th and the rpms will stay between 2 and 3k, and that does just fine with gas.

I was on the freeway in 5th gear at about 3K RPM. :o/
