Get the boot out guys. pr0ject01 is making the valid point that a car may be called the 2005 model year but it is being built and available now. So it is 2004 car - get it people? Advertising has a lot to answer for, and you guys are the proof if such nonsense seems normal to you.

Getting this thread back on track, member pr0ject01 is correct, it doesn't make sense but being that the automakers have it set up that way why break with the norm even though it is still 2004. The same can be said of certified pre owned cars. What the hell, its a used car for crying out loud. A used car is certainly pre owned by someone. things that make you go hmmm.

They make a 2005 car in 2004 so that Supply can meet Demand. Why they actually SELL a 2005 in 2004, is beyond me. Head start I guess?:dunno:

i think people want the newest car they can buy. therefore, they'd buy a 2005 over a 2004. it's mostly a mind-game. the average person would be like "ooo, look at me! it's only 2004 and i own a 2005! i'm so far ahead."

what really makes me mad about the whole thing is that they just creep up every year. 50 years ago when a car cam out at the end of the year, ie sept, then it was a model year and a half, not the next year. now when cars come out they are the next model year. eventually everything will be a year ahead

You can say the same shit about video games.

Madden 2005. Wtf, 95% of the season is played in 2004 and they call it 2005.
