Are there any engines that i could drop into my 95 g/a se to either give me a little more hp or that have parts available (ie turbos and such)?

If your car came with a v-6 you might consider putting a 3800 Buick motor in it. The 93 and the 94 cars came with the 3300 v-6. That was a smaller bore version of the 3800 buick. The 3800 also comes in super charged!!!!

if you got the quad four 2.3 ive HEARD that its fairly simple to drop a new 3400 into it with only a few minor mods. If this is true then I'll consider doing this myself. But like i said, i dont know for a fact that this is even possible without dropping a couple extra grand into the car on top of what you spent on the engine.

physically you can swap engines, but you'll require a ECM and engine wiring harness from the engine donor car. The electronics and wiring pigtails are different depending on what engine you have. Your most economical choice is to modify teh engine you have.

I'm with Allanon. I have a 1993 Grand Am GT 2dr. 3.3l V6 and all. I wanted to drop a Gran Prix 3.8(Super sharged 275hp!!!!!) in the ole' girl and see if she could scoot.lol I found one for $800 with 102,000 miles. Should I even bother buying and rebuilding it? Then having to do massive "torch and grinder" mods?

http://www.engineered.net in in Atlanta, GA. will do the swap starting at $3500.00. for a 3800 sc swap

If you desire to
attempt it yourself, you will need engine, trans, ecu, wiring harness,
cutting torch, vehicle lift, mig-welder, engine dolly, sawz-all, flat and
angle metal stock and tubing. Additionally, you will need to fabricate the
following custom parts: front engine mount, modified right side frame rail,
transmission mount, upper dogbone mounts, heater pipes, exhaust downpipe,
throttle bracket, air intake pipe, wiring harness adapter, etc. You will
need the following new parts: front mount (pusher) cooling fans, 94-98 GA
trans mount, front sway bar, shifter cable and lever, custom burned ecu to
disable theft deterrent, batery relocation kit, etc. You will need to cut a
notch in the right side frame to clear the s/c idle pulley. It is NOT a job
for the DIY'er. Even most experienced technicians would not be able to
complete it without a fabricator close by.

now for Allanon1313 what motor do you have? the 92-95 GA came with alot of motors. a 3300, 3100 both v6s. then there was the 2.3 SOHC making 120hp a 2.3 DOHC LO making 150hp and the 2.3 DOHC HO making 180, these 3 are all 4 cylinders. so you could swap any one of these in, or people have done the 3400 from the 99+ GA or depending on your motor you can turbo, supercharge, spray it and so on.

I have the 2.3 DOHC, i think its the LO, but i'm not sure. As far as your first post, thats more than i could think of doing or finding someone to do. So what are my options. yes 150 hp is nicer than most stock imports, but seeing as most imports aren't stock for very long, it would be nice to see what i can pull in my 95. What kinda performance upgrades should i look into? Can my engine handle a turbo and/or supercharger? Basicly what i'm asking is what can i do? I bought the bodykit for it and will have it up and looking nice in the near future, now i want it to have some power behind it so I don't have to look like a riceburner for too long.

i m hoping your planning on installing a different transmission along with that. Your stock tranny wont last 10 miles with a supercharged engine, let alone one that size. You can find engine /transmissions together from gtps, gxps, and comp gs, that prolly be your best choice.

This guy is making 316hp at the wheels with a turboed LO quad 4 (and if you have a 95 then you have the LO, b/c it only came with this 4 cylinder) http://www.boomspeed.com/turboquad4/316hp_dynosheet.jpg

Also go to www.quad4forums.com for more info on what to do to your car.

would a W41 Quad 4 190HP Engine from www.mantapart.com fit in my car with little or no mods? its a quad 4 so i assume it would. but its running 40 hp more. and the pics look just like my engine, minus a few things here and there

You would need a new tranny, computer, the mounts might need to be modded a little, you might need a SCX or Calias 442 w41 guage cluster, or just and aftermarket tach. Im not 100% sure if you need anything else or not. but like i said go to quad4 and ask. theres alot more guys then just me to help you
