Hello everyone. I am not only brand new to this forum, I have never posted to a bulletin or a chat before. As suggested by the forum I am introducing myself.

I'm female and forty and loving it. No kids, never been married but I am involved with a great guy - we've been together 9plus years. I live in Central NY.

I have 2 brothers - both younger - and 14 cousins in my home area. 10 of which are male. So growing up the guys took the protective role and would do all the repair work (home and auto) and wouldn't teach me. I bought my first home in 95 and put my foot down. I wouldn't hire help and would let them do it only if they taught me how to do it at the same time. Big shock. In my family you didn't hire outside help unless it was an absolute emergency. Now, to the guys great chagrin and immense pride, I can fix my roof, rewire my lights and outlets, fix minor plumbing leaks, lay floors and ceramic tile, make minor repairs to my pool pump and pressure washer, put up wall paper, plaster-sand-paint with ease.

Last year I bought a 95 Firebird convertible to celebrate my 40th. Always wanted a rag top. Now that it is in great mechanical shape I am interested in redoing the interior. I am going to need lots of sound advice and found this forum. I read a lot of the threads and replys and it seems to be a great place to learn. I look forward to being a participant - maybe in a couple years I may actually be able to help someone else.
