I'm looking to convert my 85 to Power Steering, this is a 5spd and wide tires so I'd love to Power Steering, I'm working too hard to get around, and any help would be appreciated.

A Mercury Merkur power steering rack and pump were used for the Fiero based Quick Silver Zimmer.
That would be the "most straight forward" swap meaning not that much fabrication. Finding a good rack from the Mercury may be hard, for not that many Merkurs were built. www.twinlakesfiero.com has built up a few of these power steeing Fieros. The cost will probably be more that you are willing to spend. I have not heard of any successful power steering replacements from trying to use other racks such as Camaros or Chevettes.

If you set the front alignment camber an extra 2 degrees to the negative side the steering effort will drop - you will lose a hint of responce and road feel this way, though. as for power assist, a Citation rack might fit (it seems to measure up) but you'll need custom hoses and a place to PUT them under the car where they won't get torn off by speed bumps and railroad crossings. Alternative to this would be an adjustable electric pump system(in the front compartment) like those used by hot rodders. You can find them in hot rod magazines and parts catalogs or by asking your local neighborhood '32 Vickie owner. (everyone seems to know at least one person with a 32 Crown Victoria - it's one of life's great mysteries)
