I have a 1993 Mr2 N/A. I was going to do an engine swap and i decided on either a 98+ jdm MR2 Beams engine or a turbo jdm 3rd gen 3-stge engine. I was wondering witch one would be better. I know that parts for the Beams engine might be harder to find but im not worried about that. I also like the idea of 200HP coming from a N/A engine. It is also a swap i dont see very much so it would make my car a little diffrent then the others on the street. And if i wanted more horse power couldnt i just turbo charge the Beams engine? Also witch has more potential horsepower gains? Bottom line....Witch one is better for the car, better for the money, and has a higher potential to produce more hp?
thanx
p.s. I dont know if it matters but my friend has a 1991 N/A mr2 and he said if it was easier to do the swap on a 1991 he would trade cars with me. Any opinions on this?

If high hp is your goal, go 3sgte. With the same amount of money, you'll get more bang for your buck.

find out about an after market computer... i'm thinking motec. The SXE10 ECU controls a lot of functions on the car that it doesn't need for the MR2, meaning it will generate errors constantly and may not work.
