Brake Clicking/Clunking

Each time in the morning and after work (basically the first time I drive the car after it sits for an extended period of time) when I'm first driving the car and step on the brakes for the first time, it makes a CLICK/CLUNK type of noise, ONCE. Then nothing, no other noise the rest of the ride even at braking points. It will only do it again after an extended time of sitting, and then again, when I first step on the brakes. I asked my dealer and they said it's the ABS test. However, in the manual it says that test noise is more of a Buzzing/Electronic noise. Anyone else experience this CLICK/CLUNK noise the first time they brake after a period where the car sat for a while??? Please help!!! Thanks!!!

Sorry no clunking. However I have had my car in 6to 7 times because my brakes make a squealing sound. I have had break pads replaced and rotors re serviced and still the same squeal. Have who had any of these problems?

No, no squeels... I wish I knew this clunking/clicking noise was normal... My car's only got 9700 on it... If anyone else has any knowledge of this, please, please, let me know! Thanks!

I have the slight squeal, too. Only during the morning's first brake. That seems to be fairly commonplace with the S due to the performance braking system. A little obnoxious, though. As far as "clunking" is concerned, I have experienced a less pronounced version of what you've described. The ABS seemed to kick in very briefly during the first application of the brakes after it had been sitting.

Yeah, it's not a loud clunk. A soft clunk leaning more towards a click. Like you said, it's probably just the ABS kicking in during that first use of the brakes. Thanks man!

Thank you for actually posting a relevant question that hasn't been posted ten thousand times before.

Actually, after I wash the car, the pads tend to stick to the rotors due to oxidation of the rotor. If you have a very high humidity environment where you keep your car, this might just be the pads sticking. Just take a look and see if your rotors are oxidized. They'll just look like the outer part of the rotor where the pad doesn't touch.

What I hate about my brakes are the thick layer of rust after its washed. And they fact they couldn't stop a 21 speed in sufficient time and space.

I'd love to get the Brembo BB kit. Heard anything about it at ClubRSX?

I've heard that it'll cost your first born child, your house, 2 legs and 5000 in cash for it!

I haven't really heard too much about it because its so rare (i.e. expensive). Mainly Willwood kits get the attention (although I don't follow up on brakes too much) or Rotora and AEM.
