I have a 95 Tacoma 4WD extra cab. My AC recently has had an intermitant problem, it works sometimes but most of the time it does not cool and the compressor clutch does not kick in. Ihave check pressure on low side and there is enough (90) for compressor to kick in. I believe it may be a relay. Has anyone elese experienced this problem. Is there a web site I can get a wiring schematic of the AC system. Thanks!

Is that 90 psi with clutch engage or not?? I also have an 95. I have the shop manuals. I'll look for the diagram.

About 90 psi without the clutch engaging.

Thanks

When mine went out it was leaking o-ring at expansion valve. A quick way to check for charge is to electrically jump th a/c compressor to the positive side of the battery. This should engage the clutch a give you a reading on the guages. Operating pressures on the low side should be about 40-80psi and high should be around 175-225 psi. It all depends on outside temp. Vent temp should be lower than 60 F' . Usual failures are leaks and pressure switch..As for the a/c relay. Check the main fuse block or the secondary one next the battery. It should say when you remove the cover. A friend has my manuals. Haven't check under truck yet. good luck

could be a low pressure or high pressure cutoff switch
