no power at wot

have a 1997 crown vic with 40000 miles car runs fine at light accelleration, but when u put it to the floor nothing , tthe rpms drop and tne only way to get it going is to get off the gas. what do you think im ready to sell it

Have you cleaned the Mass Air Flow Sensor?

What have you done to the car to try and fix the problem so far?

If it was me I would be doing the following:

Clean MAF
New Plugs, wires, if necessary.
and New fuel filter.

I would reset the computer after this is done, and go from there.

Check fuel pressure, I'd be you don't have much (or it drops off under acceleration). Changing the filter is a good first plan.

Crown Vics eventually kill off their catalytic converters. When one fails, your top speed drops to nearly a crawl. Ford will be happy to replace them, though, they're $1200 a side.
