89 Corolla GTS needs some make-up

I've been driving around my 89 Toyota Corola Gts ever since I've been driving, and I love it. However, life hasn't been especially kind to it, and there are a couple eye sores and an otherwise beautiful car. And since actually finding reliable information on the net is DIFFICULT as hell, I figured some of you might be able to enlighten me.
The sunroof has a hole in it. Its about the size of my thumb, and i have a big thumb. Its right towards the front center part of it and its surrounded by rust. Being a black car it wasn't too noticeable, until orange colored water started trickling down and onto my lap as i was driving about a month ago during some rain. Whats the best cheap way to stop this from occuring?? If I have to, I'l get a "new" sunroof. Even if it means hunting through the junkyards. But I am hell of a low on funds. The hole pretty much at this point goes straight through.
Ideas?? :banghead:
Maybe I'll post a pic of it somewhere so you all get the idea.
