Simple and stupid question.

Just bought a 2002 Cavalier RS Sport about 2 weeks ago, and started doing some minor mods to it. One of the little things I'm doing is swapping out the standard interior dome lights for blue ones. My problem? I can't figure out how to get the damned cover off. It seems like all it needs is a flathead screwdriver to pop it off, but that doesn't seem to do the trick. I don't really feel like busting up the dome light, so I figured I'd head here for advice.

Also, does anyone have any pictures of the clear environmental controls? I'd like to see how they look before I attempt to pull them off (does that trick work on the 2002 model?).

i have a 92 cavy i don't know if the dome lights are the same but to take mine off you just squeeze it together towards the centre and pull down try that. for pics of controls goto cardomain.com and theres like 250 odd pics of different cavys so theres probably a pic there

I have a 2002 Z24 and i put a new interior light in. my as three clip post that have to be pressed in. but becare i damn near took my finger off the cover is sharpe!

if you go to ebay you can find a pic of the clear hvac knobs i did that to mine and misted them with a blue model paint.

there was no 2002 rs sport cavalier

ya that trick works and hey asshole so what he made amistake on the model. Ya you just got to give it a little love and pop those three clips just be careful thats all
