this is prety much a worthless post, but I am waiting for something to come in the mail thorugh fedex, and am also leaving to go to cali in a few days, and I wanna leave with this package in my car.
I know on UPS.com, when they track shipments you get details of everywhere the package stops. so like if it left amona id see it stop in redding or portland or something, then evereet and then it says out for delivery.
does fedex not do this?
I tracked it when I got the tracking number and aug. 20 it was scanned and loaded onto the trailer. aug. 21st it left pomona, CA.
estimated delivery date was the 25th, and still hasnt changed. but today is the 24th, and it still shows the last bit of information as "aug. 21 3.22 AM departed fed ex facility, pomona CA"
so is there any possible way I will stil get my pocket bike before I leave this thursday? or do they just not updat ythe delivery dat until its actualy late, not anticipat since its nowhere yet it will be lat so theyll change it sooner.
Id appreciate any info you got.

Most likely it's traveling via FedEx Ground. Once it's loaded onto the truck, you won't see any updates on it until the truck arrives to the sorting station in your area. Then you'll see it leaves the sort, goes to the local station, and is then placed on a truck for delivery. Had it gone FedEx Express, you'd have it in 3 days tops, and see tracking info every step of the way. FedEx's online tracking is updated just as quickly as UPS.

well, through UPS ground it is updated every day, even tells you when it wqs updated when you log onto the tracking page, and you get way more info. and I bought a pocketbike.

damn fedex, it was just updated and shows that it reached portland, OR at 4:26 AM on the 22nd, but wasnt even scanned at their sort facility until about noon TWO DAYS LATER, the 24th (monday was no kind of holiday, right?). says it hasnt even departed yet and it is supposed to make it here tomorrow. if they leave soon I know its possible to havre it at everett tomorrow but I know UPS doesnt get it to evereett and send it out for delivery the same day, hopefully fed ex is different in that area. I guess the good thing is its still scheduled or tomorrow.

If it arrives at a fedex center near you, you can go down and pick it up if the place is local and you need it faster. I had ordered a laptop once and they had it sitting in their fedex center about 12 miles from here for 3 days so I just went and got it.

They both update their info about the same. What I don't like is that the expected time of arrival, is false. I take a day off of work, and stay to listen for the door bell, and nope, they seem to tip toe to the door leave the "I was by and you weren't" slip and leave. So when I go check theres the slip and I have to go in search of them at the main holding station. They both do that crap and they both suck. :banghead:

UPS just leaves it at my door. But i know what u mean with FedEX. they do the same thing with me. Never ring the door bell at all.

so far I am much happier wiht UPS, always gets here when they say and never sits in the warehouse halfway here for 3+ business days before it leaves. says its out for delivery right now though, so they will be on time as they guessed, but if they wouldnt have stalled so much I could have had the damn thing in 3 days.
