2004 Trailblazer Steering Wheel

I just picked up my new 2004 trailblazer 2 weeks ago and today I noticed that my steering wheel doesn't lock when you pull the key out. I haven't had time to stop back at the dealer and was wondering if this is normal or if I have something defective. All those with a 2004 trailblazer please let me know. I would appreciate it.

I own an 03 trailblazer and the steering wheel does not lock when i pull the key out...nor does my 01 monte carlo

Hmmm...maybe it'll lock, but it locks differently than we're used to, as in normally. My Chrysler steering wheel would lock, but only if you turned the wheel a half a turn before shutting it down. I dunno why they couldn't just make it lock with the wheel straight but it still locked. I got over it and just didn't lock it. Give it a try and see what happens.

I checked with several other Trailblazer owners 2002 on up and none of them lock. It must of been by design since they all have security systems in them. I even email GM and they said it should lock and when I mention what I said above they never replied. Got to love that customer service!!!!

Wow had this TB since June of 2001 and never realized my steering don't lock! I don't see it as a big concern tho.
