Hi, i recently purchases an 86 gt and when i got it. it seemed to run fine. the next day, a friend and i put on a custom spoiler (that was on before i purchased it so the wiring was already done and grounded) everything is mounted and i come out the next day, and my battery is dead. now keep in mind i didnt touch the battery or any other wiring inside or anything i didnt leave any lights on, i specifically remember turning everything off and checking twice. so i had it jumped seemed to start for 2 days, then the next day. flatline nothing. had it jumped again. everything was ok. and then 2 days later its dead again. now i had to jump it again today and i let it charge for extra long. but when i turned the car off and listend really hard i heard something in the background. its like a faint hum. SOMETHING IS RUNNING. im not sure what it is. but it sounds like its comming from behind me. and that has to be what is draining my battery. im not sure if anyone can help me or has had this problem but please any information would be greatly apppreciated.

i went out and figured it out myself.
somethings wrong with my fuel pump. thats whats making the buzz or hum. i am thinking that its the relay so instead of unplugging the battery to save it from dying all i have to do is take out the fuze right now untill i get a new pump
hope that helps anyone else who is having this problem.

What I suspect you are hearing is the fuel pump is running. If you are unfamiliar with the Fiero, when you turn the ignition switch on, prior to starting the car, the fuel pump starts. The oil pressure, as the engine cranks, needs to read something for the car to start.
The oil pressure sending switch is connected in line with the fuel pump. The oil sending unit has shorted out, causing the fuel pump to run. The fuel pump running causes the battery to die. You need to replace the oil sending unit.
The sending unit should be on top of the engine to the left of the battery. There are two wires that come out of the top. There also should be a rubber boot that covers the top of the sending unit, which may be missing.
I've replaced the sending unit 3 times over the nine years of ownership of my GT. The part # is 10045775
