I was thinking of a swap for my 95 civic coupe and i was thinking of an LS/VTEC but i searched on yahoo and i found some threads that say it's not too reliable and others say it's very dependable. What do you guys think?

i would say its up to you if you want to do this but i know a kid who had this in his 95' civic coupe and he did like the way it performed. However reliablilty wasnt the greatest compared to other basic swaps you could do..... i.e. oil leaking, etc.

Shit son, I've only been daily driving my LS/VTEC car for 6 months and over 20 thousand miles, but it is SO unreliable. I mean, one time I had to replace the spark plugs, holy shit. And every 3000 miles it gets a HUGE oil leak, and I have to replace all the oil in the motor!!!

Fact is don't believe everything you hear. The LS having a poor rod/stroke ratio argument is pure bullshit for a street motor, and the LS/VTEC being unreliable is pure bullshit as well. Mine does not use any oil, it has not exploded from the horrific rod/stroke ratio yet, there is nothing wrong with it.
