CD Cassett swap....code? dealer AHHHH??????

my cd player is not working,,,, i opened the damn thing and it had a couple of broken "shafts" ,,,,so i looked on ebay and found a good price for one,,, but the anti thieft issue,,, it wont work on my car,,,, is thier a way to do it myself or i have to take it to a olds dealer and have them put in a code,,,, let me know because i want to stay as far as possable as i can from a dealer,,,, if their is no way that i can do it myself,,,, will the dealer charge me anything for the code....not instulation?????????

Some dealers charge for this service and others do not. It depends on you relationship with the dealer. There are a few places on the net that provide this service for about $40.00, do a search on "Theft Lock".
One other way to get the radio unlocked is to send it back to the original owner and have that person install it in the original vehicle and dissable the "Theft Lock" feature.
