flashing "d" light, and then code 43 with service engine light

after letting my 92 accord sit for nearly 3 yrs.. the rings froze on my 232,000 mile engine. Getting it back on the road, had a 91 engine with 89,000 miles installed with a new t-belt and water pump. I got it back from the shop, and the D4 shift indicator light is flashing, car running sluggish and spuratic. After driving a few miles, check engine light comes on and stays on. Also had a moment while driving, the speedo jumped around, and the engine rev's up as the transmission disengaged.. it did reengage though.
I unplugged all connections and reconnected. I did find the neg battery cable loose and it and the positive was dirty.. i cleaned connections and tightened up.
Redrove the car, transmission didnt act up, nor the speedo, but still with flashing D, and check engine light. Code 43 on the check engine, and the D light, I get a code 9.
I have only found out that 43 is fuel system problems, but no hint as to where to go to check it out. And I havent found what code 9 is. Please help me out, I want this car to make it to at least 500,000 miles. I should have never parked it in the first place..lol.

a Code 9 is for a Cylinder Sensor.

where is the cylinder sensor located? is it in the distributor?

Yes, it's in the distributor. You may need a new distributor, there is a way to check it first if you have an ohmmeter.

Ok here's the instructions on checking the CYL sensor:

- Disconnect the ignition harness connector at the distributor.
- Probe terminals D and H with an ohmmeter. Resistance should be between 260 to 500 ohms.
- Check for continuity to ground on each terminal. Continuity should NOT exist.
- If continuity exists, replace the distributor.
