wierd dream

can anyone interpuet this dream. which is i know whats going on in it. but its not me its my mom that has it all the time and she has dreamed about it since childhood. she dreams that she is climbing a stairway, at the top there is a door with a white porcelin knob, under the door is a glowing bright light, before she opens up the door she always wakes up.
no she beleives that she was killed in another life on a set of stairs or she fell down them backwards. didnt know if you guys thought its wierd that over the last 35-40 years she has dreamed this same dream 5-10 times a year.

Classic fear of the unknown. Climbing the stairs is the journey through life and getting to the top and not knowing what to expect is fear of death.

OZ i think you have hit the nail on the head, because she is afraid of dying, she had to be put on zoloft years ago over this nightmare she has had over the years. she is now off the zoloft, but is afraid of staircases. she goes up and down them. but we was in line for a rollercoaster at six flags and the stairs up to the loading platform had holes in them and she could see through them. she was so terrified she couldnt go any higher than the 3rd step.

That's freaky as hell. Almost like she's about to pass through deaths door, but never opens it.

call me an idiot but i think that she's seeing her way into heaven (cliché) but it's not her time (there we go again) so she wakes up before she opens the door if she stayed alseep and opened it then....i'll leave that to you

Reoccuring dreams are often signs of nothing at all. More or less a meaningless tape played over and over while in a dream state.
