My right side rear view mirror does not auto-dim at night. Is this normal?

The entire rear-view mirror mounted on the windshield should auto-dim. If you are referring to the mirror attached to the outside of your passenger door, it does not auto-dim.
Sorry to be a little dim myself, but I wanted to get you the right answer!

A few things.... first you must have an inside mirror that dims. The inside mirror controls the outside mirror. Second you must have an outside mirror that dims. If it is a dimming outside mirror, it should say "auto dim" or "GNTX" in small letters at the bottom of the glass. An outside dimming mirror will also have a wider bezel arount the glass. About a 1/4". A standard outside mirror will show almost no bezel around the glass.

The passenger door side view mirror is not auto-dim equipped. Only the drivers door and the windshield rear view are auto-dim. It seems very strange to me that this is the case, I am obsessive-compulsive and can only deal with an all on or all off situation. The partial dimming of the mirrors really tics me off! I guess it is all off for me!
