Engine Swap Questions

I was wondering what kind of engine that I could swap into my '96 Civic EX and still keep it CA legal.

use a B16a2 there good with the civics, or u could try a ls/v-tec

yeah that a good engine or the b16a3 would be the same; considering that the engines were in usdm hondas.

What is an ls/vtec?

Does anyone know were I can get a BRAND NEW B16a2 or a3?

in CA there is a visual test meaning you have to keep stock motor for legitness. You can put in a b16a3 USDM 99-00SI motor and still pass smog.

Finding one will be hella hard and buying one from honda HUGE cost.

LS/VTEC is using integra b18a/b bottom end and a DOHC VTEC B head either ITR CTR SIR or GSR head to make a ghetto fab vtec motor

So what your saying is that the b16a3 USDM 99-00si engine will or will not pass visual?

And just how much does Honda charge for a new b16a3 USDM Engine?

Any differnt motor will not pass visual some places dont care about vis that much. I dont know or want to know price for new b16.
