wHATS YUP GUYS?I LIKE TO KNOW WHAT WOULD BE THE BEST POSSIBLE MOD NEXT FOR POWER AT THE WHEELS, SOMETHING I WILL FEEL AND BE HAPPY WITH.i"M NOT LOOKING FOR A TURBO KIT BECAUSE I DON'T WANNA VOID MY WARRENTY AT NISSAN.UMM I GOT A COLD-AIR-INTAKE,EXHAUST SYSTEM,GROUNDWIRES,SHORT SHIFTER AND I' NOT LOOKING TO SPEND MORE THAN 300$ BUCKS RIGHT NOW.IF CAMS/PULLYS ARE NEXT WHATS A GOOD BRAND FOR A 2003 SPEC-V SER OR A NEW HEADER, I SEEN A FEW ON EBAY BUT DUNNO IF ITS A CHEAP BRAND LIKE OBX?I WOULD LIKE TO DO SOME MORE BOLT-ONS ON THE ENGINE IT WON'T BE A TURBO DIFFERENCE BUT IT WOULD MAKE A DIFFERENCE FOR ME PERSONALLY BEFORE I DO THE EXTERIOR .OH YEA BY THE WAY DOES ANY ONE KNOW IF THERE'S GONNA BE A HOOD SCOOP COMING OUT OR ANGEL EYES FOR THE SPEC-V-SER 2003 IN THE FUTURE?...............THANKS SOMEBODY AT LEAST REPLY...........LOL

less than $300? pulleys, that's about it, I would save the money personally

next move for you should be a header, stay far far far away from OBX, Megan racing, and all the other ebay trash. Get an AEBS, Hotshot, or Nismo header and you'll be fine. Cams would be a good choice, but that's about double what your budget will allow, so unless you get into some money soon I wouldn't look too hard at them.

Hood scoop - Stoopid parts has their reverse-cowl hood which is kind of like a hood scoop, other than that there's nothing, and if you get one of the pep boys scoops that you tape onto the top of your hood, I'll slap you.

Ixnay on the angel eyes too, hell we don't even have projectors yet, angel eyes will never come

hmmm. the cheapest thing i,d do is go buy a dremel, and gasket match you intake manifold. it's an easy couple horse you can do. after that i'd invest in a set of iridium spark plugs. they do more then you think. on my corrado i got a 10hp difference at the wheels on the dyno. i was seriously impressed. i put them in my sentra and could tell a difference for sure. havent dyno-ed this car yet though. but for the money you cant go wrong. those 2 mods should give you roughly about 13hp-15hp at the wheels for under $100 and if youve already got a dremel tool or access to one then you can do it for about $55.

Hey SR20DE4ER. thanks for the reply on my question earlier.I actually took a look at those headers from AEBS and HOTSHOT both are pretty pricy on their websites.As for as price wise the hotshot seem pretty good for about 300$ and the abes is 660$ seem good nice finish product.I"M assuming the aebs is a better product and better quality and performence wise.Which one do you think I should go for....thanks..

Well the aebs includes a high flow cat and a bung already welded in aft of the cat so all you have to do is move your O2 sensor to keep from tripping the CEL, but I've heard of people tripping the CEL anyway with the aebs, so go figure.

I have the hotshot and it works very well, good quality construction, and it includes a bung for relocating the O2 sensor, you just have to take it somewhere to get it welded in.

hey sr20de4er yea i'm going with the hotshot as well since its hurts to spend $660 on a part.Ouch!thanks for your opinion on the hotshot, I saw a few headers that look cheap looking at a cheap price on ebay.Well since i'm getting it, I will make check of that senor and take it a welding place.Afterwards IBEATYOURHONDA I will do those lil works like you did I'll do the pulleys under the hood afterwards.Got to understand I"m not trying to be a wanna be...lol..i'm not looking to have the fastest car either..just got insurance and i'm not fu*king that yup.I just wanna have more power better flow ,something I can cruise in and enjoy driving...thanks guys

in california no, in just about every other state it should be as long as you take care of the CEL caused by the O2 sensor.

In your car, you have 2 catalytic converters and 2 O2 sensors. One sensor is in the exhaust right after it leaves the engine, you can see it if you pop your hood and look at the heat shield sitting over the stock header. Next comes the first cat, then after that comes the second O2 sensor, and then the second cat, and then the exhaust goes out to your muffler. The ECU makes readings of the exhaust using the O2 sensors, the 1st one is used to both get a baseline for the exhaust, and also to help the ECU tune the engine. The 2nd O2 sensor is simply there to re-read the exhaust to be sure that the cat is working, it just makes sure there's a difference and everything is fine.

Well when you get a header, you eliminate the 1st cat completely. The 2nd cat is really the primary cat and it's still there, and you should still be able to pass emissions because it cleans up the exhaust plenty. The problem is now your 2 O2 sensors are reading the exact same thing (there's no cat in between them anymore), and the ECU thinks that something is wrong with the 1st cat so it throws a check engine light. You can't pass emissions with a check engine light on though, so you have 2 options:
1 - Move the 2nd O2 sensor behind the main cat, so now you have a cat between the sensors and the ECU thinks everything is fine
2 - Get an O2 simulator, this just fools the ECU into thinking that your 2nd O2 sensor is sending a "proper" signal and everything is fine.

Sometimes though #1 doesn't work for some reason, I don't know why, but sometimes it just doesn't clear the light. You can still do #2 though if you need to, and then you should be perfectly fine.

And if all else fails you could always put the stock header back on a couple weeks before the test to clear the code, but that would be a huge PITA

hey ser204eva alright just asking alot questions cause i'm a cautious person about anything envloing enegine parts and passin inspections test of all sorts of that.Umm, well when I take it to get installed i know a guy here in Long island that wells and works on ghettas and racing cars,I print out a copy of your instructions incase he gets an engine light.he did a good ass job on my nismo short-shifter.Thanks for you help i'll let u know how it goes....

hey sr204eva I just order that header for my spec v 03 and should be coming within a week.I even talked to a tech earlier this morning and she explain everything about emission and passing inspection when the time comes.I should be ok as long as it is installed properly and have the right information,document incase I run into any trouble with this MOD.I wanted to know when u got your installed has it been running good on your SENTRA since then....any engine lights on or any inspection promblems occurs.Is there anything important I should know after installation incase later on as time passes by?....thanks...man

So far so good, I didn't get around to relocating the O2 sensor until about a week ago, and the light hasn't gone out yet (it takes a while). I could unhook the negative batt cable for a couple hours to reset the ECU, but that would also reset all the tuning I've done on my system. I'm in no rush, so if it still hasn't gone out within a few weeks of when I'm doing my inspection I'll back up all my settings and try that out. If it still doesn't work, I'll just order an O2 sim.

and an update, my check engine light finally went out by itself today. So I'll give it a few more weeks for the ECU to clear everything out and then I'll get the inspection done, we'll see how it goes.

Hey whats yup sr204eva I finally got my hotshot header this week installed and everything went good.My guy at the shop did a awesome job and should be fine to pass state expection.I love the product performence,i felt power right from the minute I left the shop.My enegine feels like its breathing more and even running smoother.Engine light did come on for the whole day until this weekend on saturday I got the enegine light but I went to get gas and turned my car off, it disappeared when I turned the car on.How come did this come about?Finally,I got a GREDDY exhaust system when i brought my car with it.It had that nice deep sound not like those nasty ghetto system with the annoying noise.With the header now I hear like a slight wushhh sounds its not loud but u can hear it and I would like to know my exhaust sounded really good with no misfire sounds.Now unfortunalty i'm getting misfires sounds now like farts out of my muffler?Why is this doing it and any way to fix or make it sound like b4?lil annoying the misfire sounds

do they kind of sound like pops? It's not backfiring, lord you would know backfiring (it sounds like someone's firing a 12ga shotgun right behind your car), I believe those pops are called afterlighting. I forgot what causes it, but no I don't believe you can get rid of it. It's just a side effect of opening up the exhaust system, you'll learn to like it ;)

Yea man how its going yea has a popping sound constantly I don't mind it at all but I loved just the deep sound it had when i let go of the gas pedal but like you said i will learn to love it.Oh by the way bro just out of curiosty would u have any idea how much I would be looking at if I were to change my car into automatic just getting knee pains here and there if i keep going like that into the new year I might have to do thatI love my car to much to trade it in ....Thanks...

another update, I got my inspection done this weekend and I passed with flying colors

anyway, changing your car to an auto would cost several thousand dollars, not to mention the resale value of your car would plummet. You would lose less money by trading your car in and getting an auto se-r instead.

and yes the BS removal kit is a pretty good mod, but it voids your engine's warranty completely, so it's up to you

Whats yup SR20de4eva haven't been on here in a while in the last month.Just to give ya an update on my header been working nicely since i got it installed .Still here the whoosing sound when I accelarate not too much of the poping sound like it had when it just got installed , actually has lil poping unless I hit the high RPMS.Umm I only can recall getting the enegine light 2x but there wnet away after a short time.As for further MOD umm I had short shifter from nismo but it turned out to be shit and had my local mechanic take it out.I"m thinking maybe the unorthodox pulley and a hyper voltage system get lil more performence before the winter comes.Finally want to get a bodykit that like similar to the SKYLINE -GTR.Oh by the way , I got water in one of my fog light and i can't get it out of there.What can I do any suggestions? thanks man
