poor acceleration

I have a 97 metro that idles fine and goes down the highway fine but has no power from 0 to 25 mph. Just looking for ideas. It has new plugs, wires, and cap and rotor.

Sounds like the beginning of a burnt valve. Run a compression test, and let us know the results.

Check your timing too. When I had my timing maladjusted at 2 degrees, it did the same thing more or less. I had to hit the gas a few times before I would take off from a light because the engine was barely idling.
