Transmission Recalls

Hey guys i am new to the fourm and i havea 1998 Honda Accord EX V6 with a auto trans that is leaking Trans Fluid. Is their any recalls that you know of for this problem in this new Gen of cars. I have a friend that is a Master ASE Certified tech that said that this is a common problem in this car. Aldata also said that this is a problem and just sais to replace the trans. Please HELP!!!

There is no recalls, but there are case of Good Will from Honda, problem have to be diagnosed by Honda's mechanic.
Call American Honda Motor (AHM) @ (800) 999-1009, and tell them that you have 1998 Accord V6 and transmission is leaking, and per dealer recommendation it needs to be replaced (I assume you will go to dealer for transmission diagnostics). Then you tell them that you’re disappointed that car that you bought for its known reliably has bad transmission, and then you should ask if they can help you with this problem.
And hopefully they will offer you a Good Will repair. Honda did it a quiet few hundreds of times, may be even thousand times. Under Good Will transmission repair Honda will give you rebuilt transmission for free but you pay for installation which is approximately $500.

I have a 98 honda and the transmission is slipping. I have called honda and they said kevin brown said honda can not help. I have 103k on my honda and suspected problems since 93k. kevin Brown tried to tell me that it is only a few transmission, but I faxed all the imformation off the net and over 200 issues find on National Highway Traffic Safety Administration's (NHTSA)website. The information I sent is not being reviewed. The Honda Corp is trying to ignore the problem. We need to take so action now. Please contact me at [email protected] for more imformation
