Air Bag Replacement...

Hey,
My brother just recently picked up a 96 Jetta GL, and both airbags have been deployed. I was just hoping for some advice as to an less expensive way to repair the dash as opposed to replacing the bag. His Girlfriend had a 95 Cabrio and we pulled the bag in favour of a glove box, but the Jetta already has a glove box. Anywhere I can get just the cover panel or repair the original one? As for the Steering wheel, we will probably just go aftermarket or pull one from another car that didn't have bags. Thanks for the help.
