turbo charger installation

Hey I got a 98 Ford Ranger 2.5 l inline 4. Im a street racing maniac and want to throw a turbo in my truck. Someone told me to do an engine swap with a Merkur xr4ti i believe then just switch that turbo with a better one cause the engine has the turbo stuff equipped already and the engine fits my truck. But I cant really do that cause my mom would shoot me and stuff. I'd rather by the turbo parts piece by piece (turbo last, i already have one picked out, 150 hp boost). I need to know what to buy, how much, installation, etc. Im on a budget but need it installed and everything before may (miland raceway high school nationals, hehe). I know turbos arent cheap but hopefully buying piece by piece or somethign could cut the cost a bit.
